General introduction to the Confucius Institute Headquarters Scholarships

The Confucius Institute Headquarters Scholarships (CIHS) aims to support students who are interested in Chinese language and / or culture and wish to study in China. These scholarships are also available for Chinese language teachers in foreign countries. The CIH scholarships consist of two different types: Confucius Institute Scholarships and Confucius China Studies Program.

The Confucius Institute Scholarships consist of five types that are supported by Shandong University. These can be found in the below table.

Scholarship for Masters’ degree in teaching Chinese to non-native speakers (MTCSOL)

Scholarship for Bachelor’s degree in teaching Chinese to non-native speakers (BTCSOL)

Scholarship for one academic-year study

Scholarship for one semester study

Scholarship for four-week study

The Confucius China Studies Program (CCSP) is a Ph.D. Fellowship in social sciences and humanities. Its aim is to support postdoctoral students and higher from foreign universities or academic institutions with the aim of conducting joint research in China’s top universities. Specifically, they are given for history, philosophy and literature and are divided into three different Fellowships stated in the table below.
